Hops (Humulus lupus) Canada Native
$6.00 excluding_tax
Description
This is not one of the cultivated varieties, but plants grown from wild hops seed. Plants should therefore be extra hardy and impart a different flavour, should you decide to brew your own beer. Hops do appear to have constituents with mild estrogen like effects, but it may not be strong enough to treat menopausal symptoms other than hot flashes. It is also used as a calming and sleep inducing agent (perhaps that is why some people who drink beer become sleepy?). Hops were used to stuff pillows to help get a good night’s sleep. This plant is a vine which makes it useful to cover fences and grow up arbors and trellises to provide shade and privacy.
