Marsh Woundwort (Stachys palustris) Naturalized
$5.00 – $11.00 excluding_tax
Description
Young shoots can be eaten like asparagus. The taste is nice but unfortunately the smell may not be. The tuberous roots can also be cooked and eaten or ground into flour. Marsh Woundwort contains essential oils which may have styptic, antispasmodic and antiseptic properties. Because of its rapidly spreading rhizomes it is a good plant to help stop bank erosion in wetland habitats, but at the same time caution is to be utilized in areas where it may take over.
