Aniseroot (Osmorhiza longistylis) Alberta Native

$6.00$12.00 excluding_tax

Description

The name says it all. Anise scented and tasting roots are what this native is known for, but its 3′ stature and large fern like leaves make this species one to incorporate into any dappled shade landscape. You can coax them to grow in full sun as well, but make sure the soil stays cool and moist. Tiny clusters of white flowers typical of other members of the carrot or parsley family are great food providers for many beneficials including lacewings, ichneumonid wasps and tachinid flies, whose offspring eat many garden pests.
