Our Rainbow Protein Pearls, or Farm Fresh Eggs, are produced here on our Gainford farm in Alberta. Our laying flock is what you would call semi-free range. They are protected from predators but are free to do what chickens do in their roomy chicken tractors (mobile pens that allow them to scratch for fresh veg and insects, but move around to fresh pasture areas every day), and ample-sized chicken runs. In the fall they get a special treat. The flock gets turned loose in the greenhouse to clean up veg and insect bits, work the soil, and deposit some fresh fertilizer. Talk about multi-tasking! This means our chickens are healthy and happy, which means better quality eggs for you! Currently, we have Isbars, Cream Legbars, and Black Copper Marans in our laying flock which produce a lovely rainbow of green, blue, and dark brown eggs with and without speckling. This means not only will you get healthier, great-tasting eggs, but they will be pretty too! Feel free to order some once in awhile as a treat, or get on our weekly list. Delivery can be arranged to many areas in Parkland County and the greater Edmonton area, and you can also arrange for pick up at our farm. Supply your own egg carton to receive a discount!
