Description

Most recognized as a staple flavour in Italian cuisine, oregano has been used for a myriad of medical conditions, but possibly due to its wildly variable nature (depending on variety, where it was grown, how it was harvested and preserved) it has yet to really be scientifically proven in many areas. It does contain thymol like thyme and so could be used for coughs and as an antiseptic and antifungal if one could be sure of the amount of this constituent in any given batch of oregano.
