Naked Bishop’s Cap/Naked Miterwort (Mitella nuda) Alberta Native
Price range: $7.50 through $15.00 excluding_tax
Description
A small woodland plant that can be easily overlooked due to the vast number of larger more conspicuous plants, but if one takes the time to pay attention, they will find this little Miterwort to be fascinating. It has tiny hairs on the bottom surface of its slightly scalloped leaves and larger ones on the top surface. The yellowish, whitish or reddish green flowers are star shaped with feathery antennae between each sepal and form a raceme of 2-15 flowers at the top of the plant stalk. It makes an interesting addition to a woodland or faerie garden and does well in moist shaded environments.

Cindy Lizotte –
Do not be fooled by this plant’s small stature – it is so so pretty – the leaves are such a beautiful shape, and the yellow flowers are shockingly ornate, for their tiny size – I planted one on Dawn’s recommendation, and will definitely be planting more!
