Whether in partial shade or full sun, this avens will thrive in medium to moist soils, so if you have a bit of standing water not to worry! It would do well at the edge of a water feature or in boggish or fen soil. It forms reddish purple drooping flowers from late spring though until fall. The burr like seeds hitch a ride on fur and clothing and the plants also spread via rhizomes.
