Anemone, Canada (Anemonastrum canadensis) Alberta Native

$5.50$12.00 excluding_tax

Description

This member of the buttercup family is a lovely groundcover in moist (though mature plants can handle drier periods) shade to partial shady environments where you can give it the room it craves to spread out. Because it only grows to a height of roughly a foot, one could mow it on a higher setting in larger areas to prevent reseeding, though it also spreads through rhizomes. If however, you are wanting just one or two plants amongst a variety of other species in a controlled garden, this might not be the plant for you. Featuring lobed leaves with pretty pure white flowers, Canada Anemone is easy on the eyes. It can also function as a container specimen. Like pretty much all of the members of the buttercup family, this one is also toxic if ingested. This can be a bonus if you are wanting something the wildlife won’t buffet.
