Poverty Oats (Danthonia spicata) Alberta Native
Price range: $5.00 through $11.00 excluding_tax
Description
A good cool season, clumping dryland grass. Its smaller size and interesting curly basal leaves make it an attractive container plant as well as for landscaping in drier areas. This grass would be a good candidate for green roof systems. Poverty Oats is considered a pioneer species, establishing well in areas frequented by fire. It is generally left alone by deer and other herbivores as it is not very palatable.
