Description
Native to eastern Canada, this member of the milkweed family has orange flowers. Indigenous people and pioneers used the roots to treat respiratory problems and diarrhea and also used the cotton from the seed pods to make candle wicks. It is one of the Asclepias species that can grow in drier soils and requires full sun.
