Description
This legume has fleshy roots which can be eaten like carrots. The seeds contain L-canavanine so they should not be eaten raw and only in small quantities cooked. The purple/pink flowers make it an attractive pollinator and garden plant. It prefers calcareous soils and tolerates some flooding.
